Tuesday, May 23, 2017 Despite criticism over his initial proposal in March that included huge cuts to the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Trump’s fleshed-out 2018 budget will slash billions from those health programs in order to spend more on the military and cover planned tax cuts.

Study asks how accurate doctors, nurses are at prognostics

Monday, May 22, 2017 Clinical predictions can have a major impact on decisions doctors make for patients, so it’s important to have a firm grasp on how predictive prognostics actually are, according to a new study. A research team from the University of Pennsylvania looked at 10 different predictive measures, including survival within six months, ability to return home and toileting independently, and examined how accurate clinicians’ predictions were.

Campbell, will step down Sept. 1 to assume a new executive leadership position within the organization, focused on areas that he has great passion for: leadership development and optimizing health value. Announcement The interim leader of the University of Utah’s health sciences department and healthcare system will earn $67,000 for each month he remains in the position, documents show. That salary, which translates to more than $800,000 over a year, represents roughly three-fourths the pay of Vivian Lee, who resigned last month after six years as senior vice president for health sciences, dean of the School of Medicine and CEO of University of Utah Health Care.
